South African Cape Hake

(Merluccius capensis)

 

       Wild Caught from the pristine waters off South Africa and Namibia, Cape Hake is mild in flavor with a firm texture to the bite. A firmer and more versatile alternative to North American Hake, whiting, and cod.  South African Hake trawl fishery has recently been re-certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (M.S.C.) as sustainable fishery.  Namibia's MSC status is under review as of 1/5/19.
